organic products
In organic farming, we work with production methods that are as gentle on the environment as possible, taking into account the scientific methods approved by environmental protection agencies. The use of synthetic pesticides and mineral fertilizers are not used. Organic agriculture rejects the use of genetically modified organisms. The term ‘organic food’ for organic products is defined by law in the EU. Organic foods must not contain MSG, be artificial flavoured, coloured or preserved before being sold.
Organic products are grown in specially designated fields. These organic fields are monitored and certified by accredited, EU-registered organic certification bodies. Agricultural land will not be used for organic farming until three years after it has stopped using pesticides and fertilizers, depending on the measured residues left in the soil.
Since no synthetic pesticides are used, organic farmers face more challenges to ensure that their products are not damaged by pests (biological pest control) and the microbiological burden does not exceed certain limits. In many manufacturing countries, we work with suppliers who are certified to trade in organically grown products and support appropriate agricultural projects in their countries of origin. We are authorized importers for organic products according to the EC-Regulation No. 834/2007.
