Every year - but this time it was completely different: the Keyaniyan team brought the successful business year to a close with a different kind of Christmas party. Under the promising name ‘Bellydance Night’, an ambience and programme straight out of 1001 nights awaited us this year in the restaurant ‘Le Marrakech’.
Le Marrakech’ has created a world reminiscent of the winding alleyways and fortifications of the Moroccan royal city of the same name in the centre of Hamburg in a former tram hall measuring over 1000 square metres. Thanks to the skilful incorporation of stylish architectural elements, guests walking through the rooms are constantly surprised by the artfully arranged decor in niches and shelves and the lovingly decorated tables and seating areas. Hundreds of individually designed straw lamps and delicately crafted metal lights, which hang from the ceiling in different lengths, bathe the room in a soft light.
In this beautiful setting, we were spoilt with culinary delights from Moroccan, Syrian and Lebanese cuisine: An entrée with a refreshing mango spritz and a selection of aromatic mezze was followed by a varied buffet of fifteen delicious meat, fish and vegan dishes such as crispy pastry rolls with a savoury feta courgette filling, salmon with potato and aubergine puree and couscous lamb with oriental spices and fresh herbs as the main course.
Well-fuelled, we then moved on to the artistic highlight of the evening: A Bellydance show in the so-called Marrakech Riad Hall. The term ‘riad’ comes from the Arabic word for ‘garden’. A riad is a traditional Moroccan townhouse or palace with a patio, a green inner courtyard.
In the centre of the riad hall, with its high arcades reminiscent of the country's typical architecture, the professional dancers Suna Avci and Brüna Diniz presented their rousing belly dance choreographies and captivated the audience with their expressive movements and sparkling costumes. Some of our colleagues responded to the organisers' final invitation to join in the dancing and took the opportunity to put what they had seen into practice wherever possible.
Our special Christmas party ended with exciting conversations while enjoying a mocha and delicious baklava variations.
With this in mind, we would like to wish our customers, business partners and their families a wonderful Christmas season and good health, happiness and special moments beyond the everyday for the New Year.
